Educate Our State is a grassroots, parent-led organization educating and uniting Californians to advocate for
systemic change that will provide all students with a high-quality public education. Add your voice now!

Here is the good news - you're not alone! There are lots and lots of people fighting for high-quality public education in California. And here is the not-quite-so-good news... We have a long road ahead of us, and a lot of work to do. Here are some things you can do to help:

Join us on Facebook and and Twitter and sign up for our newsletter to stay up to date on issues and actions being taken by us, and others, on behalf of California Public Education. This includes a few events we'll be throwing, where you can meet like-minded people in your own community.

Check out our round up of articles and information. Read up on the issues facing California's public schools on our favorite website, EdSource. One could get lost for hours reading about Title 1, revenue limits, categoricals and the effects of Prop. 13.

Host an Educate Me! Event

The best thing we can do is realize we are not alone! Share your passion for demanding high-quality, public education with others. We'll help, we promise. Contact We'll share why we started Educate Our State, why it matters and what we are doing to create change. Invite some friends, have them invite more friends...the next thing you know we'll have 25 folks in a room and the ideas will be flowing (maybe some coffee, too). You are part of the solution! Click here for more info.

Start A Chapter

A Chapter is a local group of concerned parents and community members that work together with some autonomy in order for them to “personalize” the Educate Our State message to reflect the unique needs of that community while staying true to the Educate Our State Mission Statement and Campaign Platform. Contact Cushon at for more info.

With supporters like you, we can increase parent engagement, teach parents how to advocate to improve their children's public school, and create the public will that is necessary for change. With your donation, you are making a difference and helping to improve education for ALL of California's children.
